Balsamic Steak Crostini with Herbed Cheese and Arugula

For New Year's Eve, we celebrated in our favorite place - Home!  With 80's music blasting, we danced, drank and feasted.  Wine and champagne aside, the highlight of the night was a special appetizer I made - Balsamic Steak Crostini with Herbed Cheese and Arugula.

Balsamic Steak Crostini with Herbed Cheese and Arugula

Marinade Ingredients:

1/2 lb thin cut steak
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
salt and pepper

Crostini Ingredients:

1 French baguette, sliced in 1/2 inch rounds and toasted
1 5.2 oz container of Boursin cheese (Garlic and Herb)
2 cups fresh arugula

Mix marinade ingredients together and marinate/refrigerate for at least one hour.  Prepare the crostini by toasting the bread in the oven.  Spread Boursin cheese onto the bread and then top with a few pieces of arugula.  Set aside.

Cook steak in a skillet 3 minutes per side.  Let steak rest for at least 10 minutes after cooking.  Cut into small slices and lay atop the arugula.

Serve with a delicious Pinot Noir like this one and enjoy!
